Made from coffee silver skin — the delicate layer released during roasting — Ripple captures the instant the last drop of coffee meets the cup, sending concentric waves across its surface.

Light reveals this suspended landscape, transforming a familiar ritual into a material story of memory, consumption and transformation. Each lamp is made to order in Portugal, and natural variations in colour and texture make every piece unique.

Ripple reinterprets the fleeting moment when the last drop of coffee falls into the cup, creating concentric waves that expand across the liquid. A micro-topography that would normally disappear in an instant is fixed and transformed into matter.

More than an aesthetic object, Ripple demonstrates how a by-product of coffee roasting can become a durable material and occupy a central place in contemporary design. Its origin is not concealed: it remains visible in the lamp’s texture, colour and natural imperfections.

Rooted in a ritual deeply present in Portuguese culture, Ripple gives permanence to an everyday gesture - and new purpose to what remains.
